Just me again, still can't recover the upload option to reload my avatar -- radio button won't uncheck, reset button doesn't get it done, gotta be missing something here......

Here's what I find interesting. When I go to the members only area, I get the following:

TRIPSO FORUMS > MEMBERS ONLY as the headers

But I see a list of the subforums for FOR TRAVEL AGENTS ONLY. I don't see the subforums for SUPPLIER CHAT.

Shouldn't the FOR TRAVEL AGENTS ONLY be the same way as the SUPPLIER CHAT?

Missalf---the button is not a check on or check off. When you click on the circle for the upload new avatar, the use no avatar button will go away. You then upload the avatar (sized to 150 X 150 max) and then it is set.

If you can PM me with your email address, I will send you some screen shots, or if you want to send me your avatar photo (frenaye@tripso.com) I can resize and insert it for you

Stephen--prpobably just a setting I missed. Confirming you are able to see the main forum of TA and the sub forums (but not accessing them), but for the Supplier Chat you only see the main forum but not the subforums and also cannnot access. Am I getting this right?

John, That is correct. In other words, I see the TA Forum and the subforums of the TA as individual forums.

Thanks, John, for fixing the settings for us non-travel agent, correspondent, moderator-type folks! :)

One of the features that I miss is the ability to post a new topic while reading a topic. It's useful for us correspondents because we can start a new topic after we're done reading the topic we're in.

Just open a separate window or tab...

Stephen--as opposed to a reply in an existing topic? I do not recall that feature and I am not sure I have seen it here on this software. There is a FORUM JUMP box at the bottom that will take you directly to a different forum.

It's not critical :) and I think the way we have it now prevents "flooding".

A few more enhancements....

You are encouraged to rate the threads if you have time. It it in the upper right corner. THis will allow someone searching for somethign to seek out the threads with a high rating.

There is also a user reputation system. I am still figuring it out, but it allows users to essentially make a comment on someones post. If you think it is a good post, you can give them positive rep points (good karma I guess), if you feel the answer is bunk--bad karma. The system will tally the rep points and then someone looking for advice or a solution might be better able to determine if a persons advice might be better than someone elses. I can see this being abused, and while I did not figure it all out yet--I do know how to turn it off!

I just gave you a "thumbs up, groovy" on your reputation. How much are you paying per vote? LOL.

I may drop your reputation for that one Dean.:D

Oh great now I have to worry about my "reputation" here too!

Am I going to have to think twice about posting things now that I have a rep' to protect?

BTW whatever tweaking you folks were doing earlier did weird things to my profile. Birthdate wiped out, sig file gone, avatar gone, time zone reset etc.

Ahhhh! Tripso terrorism! Tripso terrorism!

This could get scary. :p

Actually you ought to behave! Deano (for some reason) is able to dish out the rep, but cannot receive it. So there is a decided advantage! Working on that glitch right now!

What is the function of the small square under the number of posts. When I mouse over it, most just have the name or the name is an unknown quantity at this time. However, John's and Ned's say something different.

What is that called and how does it get changed??

It's a secret....LOL. Actually it is a test for us. It is a reputation system. If you agree wiht a particular post, you can click on the scales of justice icon (above) and you can leave feedback on the post. The feedback is anonymous and the amount of "weight" you leave depends on how long you have been here, how many posts you have, and your own reputation score.

This is a way for a poster to evaluate several responses and they can put more weight to one in their mind --or not.

If you go to your USER CP you will see your reputation points and the comments left. However you will not see who left them.

You can only give out so much reputation in a day, and only so much to specific people.

And the color of the blocks and the number of blocks will change as the system matures. Hovering over them does indeed give some standard hokey sayings.

If it is abused or we find it is useless, turning it off is a piece of cake!
