In DEC my husband, son and 2 grandsons, 3 and 6, and I spent 4 nights at Riu Resort in Cabo. It was deffinitely all inclusive. It far surpassed our expectations. Food wonderful and always available. Bars open, all drinks included, even dispensed liquor in the hotel rooms. Fridge with beer and soft drinks in the room. Games and lessons (dance, cooking, Spanish, etc..) offfered through out the day. The only charges would have been for deep sea fishing and motorized sports. The young people working those games, etc...were fantastic!. Child care with programs for the children. Nightly entertainment for the children of all ages, then a show and dancing for adults. It was clean entertainment for the adults, so if you wanted to include your children later in the evening you were not embarrassed.

The only surprise was a lady teaching you to paint ceramic figures by the pool and then charged you $20.00 for the cheap figure. I refused to pay it.

It seems that poolside ceramics are epidemic. Although colorful, and a great keepsake, probably not worth the money.

Keep in mind that these folks are not hotel employees and probably rent their space--which I imagine is not cheap (in Mexico standards). They are just like the local craftsmen or artisans.

that's too bad. although it was not worth $20, i think you should have paid it. only because it was such a small expense to have been entertained, but she should have informed you of the charges beforehand. prob. a local vendor not affiliated with the hotel.
