I agree Stephen, he is exactly right. His closing paragraph couldn't have said it better.
The surest defense against terrorism is to refuse to be terrorized. Our job is to recognize that terrorism is just one of the risks we face, and not a particularly common one at that. And our job is to fight those politicians who use fear as an excuse to take away our liberties and promote security theater that wastes money and doesn't make us any safer.[/b]
A great deal of the problem today, is that the incumbent politicians think their scare tactics, and fear mongering will get our votes so they've been laying on thick. While my representative has been ok, not so for my senator. I'm hoping to vote him out of office. There are plenty of other issues, but I've had it with the fear tactics, the knee jerk over-reactions, and the last 5 years of billions down the drain with nothing to show for it.
