I have it on good authority that the "rat" will be wearing a Steelers jersey when he makes his appearance tomorrow morning at 7 AM. LOL

I keep forgetting. Is it if he sees his shadow, it'll be 6 more weeks? Well, I voted no. It's been a relatively warm winter all across, so...

You are correct. If the rodent, known as Phil, sees his shadow it's 6 more weeks of winter, while no shadow, no more winter.

The Punxsutawney weather forecast for tomorrow morning is partly cloudy.

If you're interested in his website go to Groundhog.Org (http://www.groundhog.org/).

I predict Phil will not see his shadow this year. I was going to go up to Punxsutawney tomorrow morning, but I don't have the strength -- must save for Sunday. When I was there six years ago, there were thousands of drunk college kids (mostly Clarion University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania) it was nuts. A lot of fun, but crazy. If you ever get a chance to go to Punxsutawney make sure you go to the library; that's where all the "Phils" and family are housed. Half the library's outer wall is plexiglass so everyone can look and see all the ground hogs. They are cute. About 10 years ago, "Phil" died because he ate the wood box he was housed in. Everybody thought he was sleeping...the kids kept petting him. The wood was pressure-treated and was full of arsenic. Poor "Phil."

That's a pretty dreadful report, Anita. Now back to Sherry for the weather...

Well, he saw his shadow and we're supposed to have 6 more weeks of a "mild" winter.

That's speaking out of both sides of one's mouth at the same time.

Six years in a row of seeing his shadow now. I was told this was the year Phil got over "shadow issue." Phil was wrapped in a "Terrible Towel" when he came out. But the funniest thing happened at the end when the handler was holding him up to the crowd. Phil, well --- had an accident. So the handler used the "Terrible Towel" to wipe Phil's butt. Steelers fans everywhere are outraged over the terrible use for the "Terrible Towel." You know that clip is going to play in Seattle.. LOL :P

I don't remember who said this, but someone said (as a joke):

"Well, of course, he's going to see his shadow with all the TV cameras and lights in the area."
