What type of activities, attractions, shows and etc. are there in Las Vegas for young children? My wife and I have been to Las Vegas several times but this will be our first trip with our son (21-month old). Since I will be at a trade show during the day, I want to find some activities\attractions\shows\etc. for my wife to take our son to. Thanks.

I am not a Vegas fan, but is the Crayola "factory" still out there. That was fun. Also there are tons of over the top things to see there in the casinos. Do a canal trip in the Venetian, Circus Circus has some neat stuff for kids. If you want a show they would like, look to the Blue Man Group

Although 21 months is pretty young for most of the kids stuff --- try the M&M store on the strip, the third floor had an interactive tour last time I was there that my kids loved.
The carnival in the sky at the RIO is fun with all the colors and activity for the littler ones as well, my kids loved the arcade at this casino and if I remember correclty they had games for the smaller kids as well.
We tend to head right to Bullhead City once we arrive (visiting family) -- so if you are heading to Laughlin I can give many more suggestions.....

He might like the aquarium at Mandalay Bay, and the lions at MGM Grand, too.

He and your wife can go to Circus Circus and enjoy the mini-circus and amusement park. Also, if they don't mind the drive, check out the Blue Diamond Old west town that I posted about on my blog.

At the Mirage there is Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden. Cool mini-zoo with Dolphins as well.

There is the Children's Museum, the Zoo, the Mirage Aquarium, Botanical Garden at the Bellagio, The Rain Forest Cafe, the Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Garden, The Big Top at Circus Circus and I'm sure I'm missing some other things that a 21 month old child might enjoy. You may want to go to the Margaritaville Cafe and get a balloon hat made for everyone in your party. The downside is the noise level can be pretty high. Ear plus are a good idea.

All of the above, plus monorail rides which kids seem to adore. You can get passes for the big one in advance for a good savings, or ride the free ones between Excalibur/Luxor/Mandalay Bay or Mirage/Treasure Island. Kids like train rides.
I'd skip the pirate fight at the latter. Too crowded for too long of a wait to only get peeks between big hairdos. LOL. It's a good place to lose a child - or your wallet.
The Forum Shops at Caesars can be a fun hour or so for small kids. They have the free animated statue/fountain show at the back. FAO Schwartz has a giant store in that facility that is heaven for kids, complete with a giant two story Trojan Horse to climb around in.
AFA a show for a 21 month old? I'd be taking him to the Comedy Pet Theater, an afternoon variety show with clowns, juggling acts, trained dog and cat acts and comedy geared to the tykes. The performances are in the the afternoon at Planet Hollywood (the adjacent shopping center.)

I think that the Crayola factory is gone based upon our searches that we made on the Internet.
