Actor Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday of a possible drug overdose in a Lower Manhattan apartment, the New York Police Department said.
Those were my exact words to hubby, John.

Who was #1, before Suzanne and Heath?

Brad Renfro.
As far as Heath. It looks like he may have accidentally overdosed on sleeping pills. Too bad. He was a good actor. He was good in Brokeback Mountain (I'm probably the only straight man that saw that movie) and The Brothers Grimm.

Deano I was thinking John Stewart--the folk singer. All three within a week!

Wow! Brad Renfro died? I missed that one. Of course, I never saw him in anything since The Client - which was great - but he was a kid.
I don't remember Renfro in Brokeback Mountain.
Of course, I wasn't paying a lot of attention. I was probably one of the few gay men who HATED that movie. Yup, despised it. It irritated the hell out of me.

Sorry, never heard of John Stewart, the folk singer. I did hear he passed, but it was someone I didn't know of, so it didn't ring any bells.

Sorry, John F. I forgot about him.
Renfro wasn't in Brokeback. Heath Ledger was.
Something is wrong in this world, or at least in the media when the top story on all the network TV news broadcasts is not:
Dow closes up 298.
Dems and Reps have good session discussing stimulus plan.
US Nuclear power plants very susceptible to worsening drought may have to shut down this summer.
Nazi era mass grave uncovered.
Congress fails to override Bush veto of SCHIP Health Care legislation.
Palestinians knock down security fence and buildings at Gaza/Egypt border and pour into Egypt. Egyptian government was impotent in preventing the border incursion.
Starbucks testing $1 small cups of drip coffee with free refills to meet competition. But is, the continuing saga of Heath Ledger's death...
I guess we know what they think will give them ratings, and it's certainly not anything which is actually important.

I agree.
For the new year I made a promise to myself to not read gossip news and other celeb happenings and focus on the world and read more. To visit sites online that would educate and enhance my life or those around me. I deleted certain websites from my favorite list.
I have been complaining since the new year because I go to news sites and everyone had the story about Heath or Britney or Tom Brady's shoe. While Heath's death is tragic, in my brain every death is tragic.
Mean while the economy is in trouble, the war is still going on, there is an election and so many other important things.
Ok, rant over.....for now!
