"This holiday season we’re going to hear endless stories of travel nightmares from our families, friends and the press. So I’ll start with a contrarian statement: Air travel is in fact as comfortable and reasonable today as it’s ever been."

Heh, heh. But it ain't gonna happen. Everyone is so freaking stressed out anyway by the other pressures of the holiday that even a minor blip gets blown way out of proportion in the minds of travelers.

For those of us in the biz, tis the season to get screamed at a lot on the phone about things out of our control.

It's all the MeMeMe mentality that makes people think that things are so bad. Everything becomes about them and they take it personally. Oh dear MY flight is late and I might miss MY connection and MY vacation will be ruined. I want compensation and free flights etc.
