These guys have been talked about before in the forums. Not to burst the bubble, but...
Part of the problem is many of the products in the kits are their own and they don't say what kinds of things are in them, how they smell, what the additives are etc. Many of us with allergies and preferences of products just don't want anyone's products. In addition, having non-liquid/non-gell items in the kit, such as a razor and blade, and a toothbrush is a waste of my money. Many of us use an electric razor, so these products, plus Foamy don't work for us. At this point the package therefore becomes too expensive.

Only thing I saw in the men's kit that I didn't recognize the name of is the shampoo, soap and after-shave balm. Everything else is available at any store, so you can read the labels and see if you can't use it before buying this kit. I think it's a great idea, and have bookmarked the page, for myself and to refer clients to.
I also think it's kinda neat that you can order condoms!

Ned. These guys have not been talked about here anyhow. They are just starting out. The kit is customizable. Ixnay the razor and add Ivory Soap.
Yes they are trying to tie in their private brand as well, but they are VERY good about customizing the kits to meet your needs in terms of actual product and quantity--am I staying a week...or am I staying a month.

I didn't see that they'll customize. That makes it more attractive. I assume you have to call them to order if you want to customize.
By the way, Carrie found them on Tripso a while back and mentioned it in her post (http://www.tripso.com/forum/showpost.php?p=47475&postcount=14), and there was some discussion after that.

My suspicion is that many manufacturers will begin selling travel sized toiletries specifically designed to comply with 3-1-1. Thus obviating the need for this product.

Except for shampoo and liquid soap, you can already get most toiletries in sizes compatible with TSA rules, so I think you're exactly right Clarke.

There are a lot of folks that make the trial sizes and I have bought them in the past. The selling point of this is that it is probably a better quality product than is typically available in the grocery stores.

In my local Rite Aid they have a whole section of travel sized toiletries. Anyway, I buy a lot of my toiletries, including travel size, from Drugstore.com. The prices are pretty good, even when you include freight, as long as you don't buy just 1 or 2 items. I usually buy 10 or 12 items at a time.
Barclay Crocker was very forthcoming about their ingredients, by the way. That was very important to me as a person with lots of allergies. I'd have to try some of their products though, to see if I want to substitute them for my normal items, which I have carefully chosen over a long period of time. I will say they seem very nice with which to deal.

Actually I jut was chatting with one of the principals of the firm and they are adding unscented products to the line, and also some more of the personal stuff.
One of the biggies I feel. ANd I am planning on using them for my trip to MSY next month is that if I have breakage, my clothes are not trashed--and it seems my ziplocks always either come undone or break. Also, I am not limited to the 3 ounce rule for a longer stay--I can order more stuff if I need it. Also, it allows for more packing. Toiletries and so forth take up a lot of space--at least for me. There is a good amount of convenience as well. They also include a quart bag with each order for the return trip!

I'm not knocking them, and may even give them a try, but if you do carry liquids in your luggage, then I always recommend a dry bag like the below:

I've been using them for years without a failure. They have a triple seal which has never leaked or opened on me. The plastic is quite heavy, not anything like baggies. If I'm going on an extended trip, I have one in my checked-in luggage (large size), filled with full size toiletries. I still carry one of these in my carry-on too (medium size), to make sure I arrive with essential toiletries, even if my bag doesn't, in which I put my baggie after going through security, in case I have a leak in the baggie's contents. Baggies aren't strong and they leak. You can't trust them, especially in an unpressurized hold.

Ned---those bags have been confiscated. The TSA says a one quart zip lock baggie, and I have heard that people have lost bags such as this. Glad has even signed a contract with TSA to provide some of the bags.
One can never count on finding a screener with common sense! Actually, hitting it big in Vegas has better odds!

John, not wanting to speak for Ned, but I believe Ned was implying that he keeps an empty bag in his carryon, and that after he gets through security, he transfers the contents from his baggie to the more "secure" bag.

Thanks Aaron. That's exactly what I do. ;)

I know we've discussed this before, but those types of bags are also very handy for packing liquids in your checked luggage. I travel with something similar called a "Spill Safe" so if anything leaks inflight the rest of my belongings are protected.
Putting your liquid/gel products in checked baggage is an acceptable "Plan B" for some of us.

A small dry bag is indispensible for taking on water activities, but for valuables and for those things you just do not want to get wet (like towels). I always have one with me on trips.
I've never had a problem with the FREEZER zip lock bags.
They are heavier guage than the regular zip bags and seem to hold up fine. There's usually not a lot of room in my checked bag for things to move around too much - maybe that helps?
As for carry ons, I've no problem with the new regulations because I aways check most of my stuff and only carry on what is too valuable or sensitive to check and what I'd have to have for an unscheduled overnight.

Identity exposed..and I just registered..I'm the guy who is married to Caitriona, that wonderful woman who owns and runs BARCLAY CROCKER(.COM) The selection of shaving balms and shampoos she has added to the EASYTRAVELKITS is right from the Barclay Crocker line of products..and trust me, they ARE first class. I've been using the BARCLAY after shave balm for years and when we send it out as a present, we usually create a new customer. Great stuff. VERY healing to the skin and no alcohol burn. As for the shampoo, since I am bald
and on such an honest site, I'll pass on reviewing that product myself. I know many others who HAVE used it and their reports are glowing. Very seriously now..these are GREAT products..plus when one buys the EASYTRAVELKIT included are $40 worth of discount coupons for anything in the line, plus any of her distributor products - including all of the TRUMPER, PRORASO, CASWELL MASSEY lines..and a myriad of other world class shaving and bath products.
Barclay Crocker has been in business for over 15 years. We got the idea for EASYTRAVELKITS when on a hiking trip in Wyoming last August ('06). Check In was a bummer and we thought,"what if..." Needless to say we have been very busy since getting the product ready for SKYMALL and for our fast growing list of affiliates, of which TRIPSO is one of the first.

That is a great idea, EXCEPT that women as a whole are picky about their products. I still like the idea!

Since a lot of you guys are pros, you probably know about this anyway, but I thought I'd put it up just in case: If you're looking for travel or sample sizes of something, try http://www.minimus.biz/ -- the whole website is nothing but, and you can buy as many or as few as you need. I like that they sell the small sizes of various medicines, like NyQuil & such.
Also, a tip for the ladies-- if you use certain cosmetic products, i.e. makeup, moisturizer, etc, from one of the department store counters (Clinique, Estee Lauder, etc.), next time you buy something, ask if they have any sample sizes. Due to allergies, I buy Arden cosmetics. When I metioned to the sales lady last fall I was going on a trip, she gave me a whole bag of perfume, cleaser, face cream, etc. samples to take with me! Hey, it never hurts to ask...
Excellent find Msnovtue. I had never run across that web site myself. I've bookmarked it along side Drugstore.com which sells lots of travel sized personal care items, but their selection isn't as good as the one you've alerted us to.
For example, they have a travel size of Lever 2000 Body wash. I've never seen that before. I repack mine into 3oz bottles, which according to some TSA agents isn't permitted (Actually there's no prohibition on repacking anything, except prescription medications for identification purposes, which doesn't fall under the 3oz limit, if it's liquid, gel or aerosol, anyway, but who's going to argue at security.).
